Last night I was part of a wine tasting fundraiser with 3 friends (shout out to Darby D, Roxy G & Desmond G) for Everett Middle School, which was super duper fun & delicious. We did a food & wine pairing with 5 Vinum Cellars wines and here's the menu:
NV Bubbles Sparkling Chenin Blanc, Clarksburg mini goat cheese, caramelized onion & pancetta tartlettes
2014 White Elephant (blend of Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier) egg salad & caviar canapes on brioche toasts
2013 Misha Pinot Noir, Sangiacomo Vineyard, Sonoma Coast lamb kefta kabob
2013 Red Dirt Red, Paso Robles stuffed mushrooms with sausage & herbed cheese
2011 The Scrapper, Cabernet Franc, El Dorado homemade resees peanut butter cups
The best part of the event for me was that we had time before the party to sit out on Roxy & Desmond's beautiful new deck to drink some bubbly, have some snacks & just enjoy each other's company. In middle school you never get to see parents - it's very rare - there's no hanging out at drop off in the morning and catching up with friends. That's the part of the night that's most memorable for me.
