Hey there! It's camp pick up day, and I'm super excited to see my daughter because it's been a whole month! I can't wait to see how grown up she is. It always blows my mind how much growing kids do after a few weeks at overnight camp. It's so good for them to be away from home. And it's good for us, too. We feel very accomplished, and we were able to get a lot of stuff done around the house. And it continues! My husband is now getting ready to paint our downstairs room. This is the site of our future master bedroom garden suite (trying to sound fancy here). But since that's not going to happen right now, we might as well take it to the next affordable level. We're going to make it into less of a store room / crappy hang out room and more like a cozy stylish den. We are painting it the best gray color ever, which is Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. Our kitchen and living room and hallway are painted in that color, and it really is the best gray color. Check it out - you won't be disappointed. One of my friends claimed that her "designer" discovered that color, and I was like, no he didn't, I did. But the truth is, my friend Ashley discovered it. But I'm pretty sure I saw it in a Martha Stewart magazine photo of one of Martha's kitchens. In any case, just check it out because you'll probably fall in love with it. We have two desks down there - one is an office desk, and it's kind of a mess. And the other is my crafting table, which is just over run with crafting supplies. We are going to have just one desk down there, which is really our old butcher block kitchen table that we have had for the entire length of our relationship (22.5 years). I bought two Ikea Raskog carts the other day in dark gray, and I'm going to somehow sift through and clean out and pair down all my crafting supplies to fit into those two carts. This is going to be an epic feat, but I think I can do it. This means I will have lots of crafting supplies to give away. If any of you are into crafting or your kids are or you are a teacher, please let me know if you would like any of my leftovers. Otherwise, I will drop them off at SCRAP, which is a great place to donate arts & crafts type stuff. My husband Dan says he's going to go through all his stuff and pair down as well. And my friend Chloe is giving us these gorgeous grey fabric chaise lounges, which are in amazing condition, and will really help elevate the room. I'm super psyched, and super obsessed with decluttering and beautifying everything around me. I really want to learn how to be happy with less stuff.
