I hope you all had a wonderful and delicious holiday weekend! I feel like the celebrating is never going to stop because we are about to embark upon holiday party season. Over the next few weekends I have lots of catering events. This weekend is my last hurrah for just hanging out and not working, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. It's been so nice to chill out, take lots of walks, watch movies, go the movies, see friends, go bowling and do some yoga.

On Thursday morning I got to watch my favorite Thanksgiving movie while sipping coffee, and it was the best. Every year I like to watch "Home For The Holidays" which stars Holly Hunter, Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning, Robert Downey Jr, Cynthia Stevenson, Steve Guttenberg and Dylan McDermott. It's a Thanksgiving tradition for me - I have to watch it every year. I love it so much - it has all the elements of a great movie - terrific acting, lots of funny scenes, family dysfunction and a touching ending that always makes me cry. My husband and I went to see an excellent movie on Friday afternoon - "Manchester By The Sea" - which is sure to get some Oscar nominations. It's not for the faint of heart though - totally devastating story - totally. Lucky for me I love depressing movies ("Ordinary People" is one of my faves). It stars Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams, Kyle Chandler (Coach Taylor) and Lucas Hedges along with some brief scenes with Gretchen Mol and Matthew Broderick. One of the main characters is also the wintery Massachusetts landscape with its sleet, dirty snow, windy white capped ocean and lots of grey depressing skies.  The bleakness of the weather lends itself to the plot. It didn't make me miss the east coast at all...

We went to Mission Bowl for the first time this weekend, and it was super duper fun but also super duper expensive. The music is great, the scene hip, the drinks very strong(had two - oops) and the snacks delish. I'm a terrible bowler, and definitely need to polish my skills, but it'll probably be at Sea Bowl in Pacifica because that's a lot more affordable. But it was so much fun - we went with another family - and then we went back to their house afterwards and they made us homemade pizza and kale salad. We had a blast, and the pizza was so good and such a treat.
